What NOT to Wear on a First Date

Since we've talked about what to wear, now we're gonna talk about what not to wear! First dates are fun and exciting. They can also be extremely nerve wracking. Follow these fashion don'ts and your date will turn out just as fabulous as you look :)

1.) Fancy dresses. It's a date, not prom night. Unless you ARE going to prom or somewhere breath taking fancy, avoid these. Dresses can be perfect first date outfits, but if you show up in one that's completely over the top, he'll be thinking, what was she thinking?
2.) Stripper heels. What more can you say? Save those for the poles.
3.) Sweatpants or pajamas. After like 20 dates, feel free to wear these whenever he's around. But for your first impression, you want to make it one he'll remember. As for sweatpants... well sexy in bed, but not in public.
4.) Low cut shirts. If you're going to wear something low cut, I hope you plan on wearing something underneath! You want him to be staring at your gorgeous face, not your cleavage...
5.) Bangles. Cute, yes. Good for first dates? No. Bangles are like turning your arm into a tambourine. Every movement you make, clink clink clink. Unless he digs dating tambourines, then pass on these :)

June Loves

1.) Bath & Body Works new Coconut line. I love the smell of coconuts. But I'm not gonna lie, I DID like their Vanilla line last year better. Regardless, all three of these smell yummy. Coconut Passionfruit is my ultimate fav. I love just throwing one of the three into my bag and using it throughout the day.

2.) Charming & Fun Body Spray from PINK. Yes, this was part of their Semi-Annual Sale! I think it was only $3? But don't quote me on that. If you're lucky enough to have picked it up, then you know this smells amazing. It doesn't smell fruity, but more country like? If that makes sense.

3.) Mac's eye shadow in Black Tied. I love using this as my crease color. It's pretty intense, so I use it with a light hand  but for those nights I want to smoke it up, you bet it's in my crease.

4.) Best Love Song by T-pain. This is that song. That song I can listen to on repeat 500 times and never got sick of it. It's perfect for working out too. Hearing it just makes me want to get up and dance! My iPods probably sick of this song though. . .

5.) Chanel's In Love Blush. I've tried tracking down this baby at least 3 times. Everywhere I went it was sold out. So one day, I stopped at Macy's to get something from the MAC counter, and thought I'd check the Chanel counter, just in case. And BAM, they had it. It totally made my day. And I'm most certainly in love with this color :) It's been on my cheeks 24/7 since the day I bought it.

6.) Hollister Dresses. I've always loved Hollister's dresses. I honestly think they come out with some of the cutest summer dresses every single year. Which is why they're in my favs ;)

7.) Gladiator sandals. I told you, I love me some Gladiators! I love dark brown ones because they go with almost every outfit imaginable. To me, they will never, ever go out of style...

8.) Victoria's Secret Glitter Eyeliners. Some of them are completely kickass, and some of them just plain suck. I suggest you try out the color before you bring it home. I really like the black & purple one though! They're perfect to add a little sparkle to my eyes.

9.) The Falsies Black Drama. There's been tons of hype about this product, and many mixed feelings. I have to say, I'm with all the people who adore this mascara! It makes my lashes super long and volumized. Not to the point where it looks like I'm wearing false lashes, but better than any other mascara has done. And layering One by One over the top, puts my lashes over the top!

10.) Glitter nail polishes. Yes, I'm a fan on them. I'm that kind of person who can't stay still while I'm letting my nails dry so they ALWAYS end up getting messed up. But putting a glitter polish over the top makes them look like nothing ever happened. And if i'm feeling extra dangerous that day, I'll put over an OPI Shatter or China Glaze Crackle.

11.) My North Face. This is my baby. I cannot leave my house without this. It keeps me so warm and cozy. I've actually thought about buying one for my car, one for my house, and one for my bag because I'm that in love. But that'd be just a little crazy ;)

What To Wear: First Date

1.) Cute girly tops are always great to wear on a first date! Pairing them with dark washed jeans still look casual, but dress up your look more than regular or light washed jeans would. Wearing wedges also make you look more dressier. If your date is taking you somewhere more casual then just regular flats would work great!

2.) This outfit is a little more grown up and sophisticated. Wearing skirts are a great way to show off your legs. If you're going somewhere during the evening, like to an outdoor restaurant on the beach, wearing a pretty pink shade like this will make your face glow beautifully! This outfit is also great if you're hitting somewhere during the daytime!

3.) The ruffled vest over a plain spaghetti strap top would look classic and trendy. Wearing sandals over skinny jeans almost always look fabulous. What I love the most about those sandals is that they have a little pop of blue in them! I think this outfit would look great going to the movies.

You Smell Amazing, Look Amazing, and you still suck?

Dear TIGI Shampoo,
Many people like you,
really they do.
I however don't.
I admit your the most amazing shampoo I've ever smelled in my life.
Your bottle is so pretty,
the  packaging just kills me.
Its like the most gorgeous mermaid
blue, green ever.
I love staring at you when I'm in the shower.
I love smelling you, even when I'm not in the shower.
But you suck, and do absolutely
nothing to my hair.
And your $10 price tag, ugh.
Your drop dead pretty.
But It's just not worth $10
to stare at you 24/7.
So you've left me...
disappointed :(

The Perfect Red Lips

Here are some tips on how to achieve that classy red lip. You'll be head-turning and drop dead pretty ;)

-Keep the rest of your makeup natural. You want your lips to stand out.
-Use lip liner around your lips first, this will help the red lipstick to stay where it's supposed to be, your lips.
-If you don't feel comfortable wearing a red lipstick, wearing a red gloss will still give your lips a sheer wash of red without being as dramatic.
-For pale skin, try blue-based reds.
-For tanned skin, coral reds look great on you.
-For medium skin, the classic red and red with a hint of pink are your best match.
-For darker skin, wearing deep reds compliment your skin tone.
-Here are some great lipsticks to try. . .

I Hate You, Starbucks

JK, but really Starbucks, really? Just make me fat already. I was getting my usual, Double Chocolate Chip Frap, and blueberry muffin, when the lady recommended a cake pop to me. Now whoever said this blog was just about beauty & fashion is about to be proved wrong. This blog is about everything fabulous. And darling, cake pops ARE fabulous :) I was recommended a Birthday Cake Pop. And if you've seen one, then you know how pink & lovely it looks. From all the exercise I've been getting from shopping lately I thought I deserved to spoil myself with something little ;) It was absolutely divine and I plan on trying the other ones next time I go. But I'm limiting myself to only two per visit. Because let's face it, I could eat a million of these if I really wanted to.

Starbucks, why must you make the best Frappuccinos and baked goods ever. You already have amazing doughnuts and pound cakes, must you make me fall in love with another fattening substance? Gah.

The Best Of the Best

A couple months ago I went into a hair product buying frenzy. I now own enough hairspray, mousse, and gel to last me a lifetime. My craziness is your gain, we're talking about the best of the best in this post.
(I don't use each & every one daily. I use what best fits whatever look I'm going for that day.)

1.) Herbal Essences Shimmery Nights/Drugstores/$3-4 This stuff is a pain in the butt to find. I used this back when I was in middle school! One day, I wanted my hair to look like a disco ball (don't even ask), so i decided to go pick this up. I couldn't find it for the life of me! But finally I did, and I've been addicted ever since. I use it on those days I want to be a little extra sparkly :)

2.) TIGI Rockaholic Dry Shampoo/$18-22 Let's keep this short & simple. Best dry shampoo ever.

3.) Aussie 3 Minute Miracle/Drugstores/$3-4 Let's be real here. Sometimes we're in a hurry. Sometimes we only have 3 minutes to get our butts out the door. And that's when this bad boy comes in handy ;) And you know you're seriously in love with a product when you're on your fifth bottle.

4.) Chi Straight Guard/Target/$14 Straight Guard, I love you, but you really stink. I seriously do not like the smell of this at all, but it's not to the point where I can't stand it. I use this on my hair after I get out of the shower when it's still wet and it dries completely frizz free! So since you make me hair look amazing, I forgive you :)

5.) Got2B Guardian Angel Heat Protector/Walgreens/$6 I'm pretty sure they changed the packaging because my looks a little different then the one shown above. But nonetheless, this makes my hair protected, shiny, smooth, and soft. Everything you could ever ask for.

6.) John Frieda Root Awakening Spray/Target/$6-$7 This stuff smells soo good! I spray it to the middle & ends of my hair (even though it's meant for your roots), and it gives my hair a nice texture.

7.) Paul Mitchell Extra-Body Daily Boost Root Lifter/Ulta/$17 It does exactly what it's supposed to do. (The picture above show's the old packaging. The new one has purple text and a purple cap!)

8.) Redken Blown Away 09/Ulta/$16 Whip my hair upside down, put some of my 09 in, and blow dry.

9.) Fekkai Marine Clean Detox Shampoo/Nordstroms/$24 Favorite shampoo to use during the summer. It smells wonderful, hydrates my hair, and makes it beautiful!

10.) Aussie Instant Freeze Hairspray/Drugstores/$3-4 I use the one with an aerosol, and it's my favorite hairspray! It volumizes like none other! And it doesn't make my hair hard, white, or anything unattractive like that. It volumizes so well, you could use it to create sex hair if you really wanted.

How to Wear Plaid

1-Abercrombie & Fitch Plaid Shirt $37, American Eagle Shorts $40, Marc Jacobs Ring $58, Guess Sandals $19. 2-Abercrombie & Fitch Cardigan $60, Abercrombie & Fitch Shorts $30, Betsey Johnson Earrings $25, Piperlime Shoes $30. 3-Forever 21 $4.50, Burberry Scarf $335, Abercrombie & Fitch Shorts $35, Guess Necklace $28, Giuseppe Zanotti Cuff Bracelet $1,025, Miu Miu Flats $535. 4-Burberry Bag $1,470, Tibi Jacket $215.

1.) Plaid shirts are always a classic and going with a bolder color during the summer makes it more fun! Wearing glitter hemmed shorts will definitely make you sparkle ;) A cute bright ring that matches your shirt is a great accessory to add and I'm in love with those heart Guess sandals!

2.) Plaid shorts are harder to pull of then most plaid things. Wearing a longer cardigan over a plain tank will keep you comfy and cute. Sparkly sandals would look great with your look and adding little matching sparkly earrings would be the perfect final touch.

3.) Scarfs are always fashionable! Just wearing a plain slouchy tee underneath won't take away from the scarf and dark washed denim shorts with black flats always look great. Mixing in a silver necklace and cuff will really edge up your look!

4.) If you want to show just a little plaid, then pairing your outfit with a plaid bag is the way to go! And on those cooler days, throwing on a fitted plaid jacket would show everybody how stylish you really are :)

I Can't Get Enough

Christian Louboutin Studded Leather Pumps $1,095, Betsey Johnson Tatiana Heel $100, Betsey Johnson Diskko Heel $130, Prada Suede Studded Pumps $464, Coach Bethanie Heel $109, Betsey Johnson Zzoey Heel $110.

“I don’t know who invented high heels, but all women owe him a lot." - Marilyn Monroe

Girl's are destined to love heels. And every woman should own at least one pair in their life. Walking in heels can just make you feel fabulous. And just like every shoe, they come in a million different styles and patterns. Summer shopping is going on NOW. So to help you darlings out, I went on a quest to find some killer heels, that won't kill your bank account.

Take Me Somewhere Glamorous and Edgy - Outfit #4

Leifsdottir Dress $328, Stuart Wietzman Shoes $493, Juicy Couture Daydreamer $398, Viva La Juicy 1.7 oz $67, Essie's Pink Parka $8, Miss Sixty's Hat $28.

This outfit is just dying to be called glamorous. The combination of black and white together is so sophisticated, but adding hot pink accessories put it on a more girly level.

The lace tie-up heels are so edgy. They have a tough look to them, but are also sweet and feminine. Those alone can turn an innocent girl next door outfit to something ten times fiercer.

This white corset dress is form fitting which will hug your body in all the right places. The tightness and ruffling work together to create a flirty, sexy, but-not-too-sexy look.

Having hot fuchsia on your nails are great for summer! Neon will make this outfit less boring, and add some pzazz. Mixing up unique styles can really make your outfit more interesting!

How to Wear Floral Shorts

1-Delias Heart Tee $20, TopShop Shorts $70, Tory Burch Flip Flops $45. 2-N/A, Forever 21 Shorts $15, Dorothy Perkins Belt $9.66, Hollister Flip Flops $30. 3-H&M Top $13, Hollister Shorts $22, TopShop Sandals $50. 4-TopShop Crop Jacket $116, Aeropostale Shorts $13, Sperry Wedges $90.

1.) Wearing an over sized tee will look great with floral shorts. Don't be afraid to mix patterns. I dare you to be bold ;) Pairing simple flip flops with this outfit won't make it over the top crazy.

2.) Simple's sometimes better! Wearing a plain shirt or tank top will keep the look laid back. Tucking your top into your shorts and adding a cute belt will make it look like you spent way more time on putting your outfit together than you actually did. And braided leather flip flops with this look will keep you comfortable & cute!

3.) Lace tank tops are extremely feminine and pretty. With the floral shorts you'll have a totally girly outfit. Adding crochet white sandals will keep that vibe going without being too matchy matchy.

4.) If the weathers chiller than usual, throwing on a cute blazer over a plain tank will look fabulous. Ruffles on blazers turn them into a more pretty, flirty kind of piece. Striped wedges will complete the outfit dressing it up a little. The blazer will look better with these instead of laid-back kind of flip flops or shoes.

Now go rock those floral shorts ;)

I'm a Belieber

After reading the sentence following this one, half of you are going to hate me. That's right, I have a case of Bieber Fever.  You've probably heard about his newest fragrance, Someday, which actually smells pretty amazing. And comparing that to the release of his nail polish collection, makes the nail polish seem like ancient news. It came out least year, and I thought there was only like five colors that made it up. Turns out I was wrong, try 14! In order from the picture above, left to right; Me+Blue, Give Me the First Dance, Prized Possession Purple, One Less Lonely Glitter, Step 2 the Beat of My Heart, OMB!, and My Lifesaver. The bottom row: Baby Blue, One Time Lime, I'm a Belieber, Redy to Runaway Love, Make U Smile, I've Got Bieber Fever, and Not a Gold Bigger.

My favorites are One Less Lonely Glitter and Baby Blue. Right now Ulta has these on sale for $5.99 instead of $7.99. If you're a dork like me and are dying to have some of these into your collection, I'd go check them out! I know I'm going to ;)

NARS, I'm Addicted

No, my obsession is not healthy. Nor does it fail to leave my wallet empty. Every time I walk into Sephora, I can't help but to buy something from NARS. And guess what I did today, state the obvious. I now have two brand new nail polishes, a blush, and three lip glosses; compliments from none other, NARS. I secretly think they put crack into their makeup, cause I can't stop buying. And now I officially think my wallet hates me, because it's so lonely. It's always been missing it's partner in crime lately, mula aka money. But everything's so pretty from NARS! The colors are just so gorgeous, I can't resist. Do they make a NARS Anonymous? Cause I need to join, asap.

But since I'm ranting about NARS here, I thought I'd list some of my favorite products from yours truly, NARS :)
-NARS Laguna Bronzer (Elf's Blush/Bronzer duo's bronzer is extremely similar. The blush however, not so much for orgasm.)
-NARS Cream Blush in Cactus Flower
-NARS Blush in Madly & Sex Appeal
-NARS Orgasm Nail Polish (Similar to OPI's Your Villa or Mine. OPI's is more pink, while NARS is more peachy.)
-NARS Eyeshadow in Night Breed (Similar to Mac's Black Tied.)
-NARS Lip gloss in Easy Lover, Supervixen, & Turkish Delight.

6.) Ray-Bans/$195 Wayfarers, a total classic.

Oblong Shaped/YOU'RE LIKE ANGELINA JOLIE/ Oversized and Wrap sunglasses will make you look killer.

Hello, Beach - Outfit #3

Roxy Bag $88, Walmart Bikini $16 for both top & bottom, Delia's cropped tee $20, Abercrombie & Fitch shorts $41, Marc by Marc Jacobs Bracelet $105, Marc by Marc Jacobs Ring $52, Ralph Lauren Sandals $248, Chanel Sunglasses N/A.

In case you haven't figured it out yet, but I have an insane obsession with the beach. It's freezing here in Chicago during the winter, so summer's my perfect excuse to visit my love, Lake Michigan. I guess you could call it a summer fling. And what's the beach without a bikini? So I always end up going on a man hunt trying to score the cutest swimsuits.

This pink heart patterned one charted the top three on my list. It's only $16 at Walmart for the whole thing! It would look amazing with a tan and some light washed jeans. With such a bright pink, all the cuties will notice you wearing this ;)

Crop tops are trendy this summer, and look great with shorts. I love flowy, loose fitted ones the best. They show some skin, without being overly sexy. They're also perfect for going to the beach. Easy to take on & off before hitting the water.

My favorite part about this outfit is the Marc by Marc Jacobs bracelet & ring. The red & pink together are so fun for summer and add the perfect pop of color to the top off the look. Colorful jewelry is always in for the summer!

The Black Showdown

Black vs. Black vs. Black.

You've heard amazing things about all three of these contenders, now who's the absolute best of the best?

1.) Revlon Colorstay Eyeliner in Black/Drugstores/$8 This eyeliner is amazing to wear to school, it lasts the whole entire day, but isn't a bold black, so it's not over doing it. It goes on pretty smoothly and the best part is, it's only $8. What a steal. I actually like quite a few items from their Colorstay line, like the foundation and lip glosses. Revlon, you've failed to disappoint me yet again.
2.) Mac Eye Kohl in Smolder/MAC/$14.50 I love this eyeliner. It's easily smudgeable and long wearing. It's a true black and is perfect for all night long. You can create intense, dramatic looks with this. It's one of those eyeliners that will guarantee you perfectly lined eyes till 3am on the dance floor.
3.) Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner in Zero/Sephora/$18 This eyeliner is amazing for that smokey eye look. It's extremely creamy and smooth. I love wearing it for those times I know I'm only going to be out a couple of hours, because the name sadly, lies. This won't stay on my waterline for more than 3 hours. And we're not talking about in extreme conditions here either. I love the look it gives me, but it's just not cut out for those long days. However, some people swear by this eyeliner and it's staying power so I guess it really just depends.

Although I like them all for different reasons, i have to declare a winner. Which is, REVLON COLORSTAY. It's the most affordable and practical one. I probably use this one at least five times more than the others and it's just plain fabulous :) Plus, it's also retractable! No need for a sharpener here.

Let's Get Down and Boho - Outfit #2

Topshop Shirt $43, American Eagle Shorts $30, Tara Matthews Bikini $133. Armani Exchange Sandals $58, Juicy Couture Tote $188, Juicy Couture Necklace $48, Philosophy Falling in Love Fragrance $60

This outfit is perfect for a warm summer day. None of the colors are vivid or crazy, so it's a nice natural & neutral look.

Crochet is a girly trend that's definitely in for this summer. This top is very simple and gives off a boho vibe. Going with beachy waves and minimal makeup would keep the trend going.

I love anything sequined, so I'm totally digging the bikini top. It's not completely covered in sequins, so it doesn't look little girlish.

Falling in Love by Philosophy is one of my all time favorite scents. It was love at first site and the sweet, clean floral scent compliments this outfit perfectly.

Love You Like a Love Song

Girl About Town Lipstick/MAC/$14.50, Nars Amour Blush/Sephora/$27, False Lashes/MAC/$14, Maybelline Line Stiletto Liquid Eyeliner/Drugstores/$6, Chanel Vitalumiere Liquid Foundation/Nordstroms/$55

Selena Gomez is looking gorgeous, as always, in pictures from her newest music video, "Love You Like a Love Song." It's her & the Scenes second official single from their new album "When the Sun Goes Down," out June 28th. To recreate her look, first apply foundation to get a flawless face. She's wearing a bright fuchsia pink lipstick and Mac's Girl About Town looks almost dead on to hers. For the blush, she used a warm peachy pink, like Nar's Amour. To create her dramatic winged liner look, any liquid liner would work. She's also wearing some dramatic falsies, but if you're going for a more subtle look, then just using mascara is a great alternative.

Love you like a long song ;)
